Our History

On April 8, 1992, New Hope Mission Church and Day Care Inc was founded with a 6:30 a.m. Easter Sunrise service, attended by thirty-two believers. The service was led by founding pastor, Rev. Wilbur Bush, who served until his resignation on October 28, 1993.

Through the efforts of the pulpit committee, Rev. Dennis L. Gilbert was called to serve and was officially installed on February 6, 1994. In the spring of 1995, Rev. Ronnie Rampersard joined as the associate pastor. Under their combined leadership, and the dedication of the congregation, New Hope grew stronger.

Rev. Gilbert resigned on August 3, 1997 and Rev. Roy Liburd served as interim pastor until August 8, 1998. On that day, Rev. Freddie Hinson Jr. was installed as senior pastor and a few months later, the church’s name was officially changed to New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Hudson, Inc on November 5, 1998.

A milestone was reached on February 26, 1999, when, after four years of prayerful effort and sacrifice by its members, New Hope’s mortgage was paid off. Led by the Spirit of God, Pastor Hinson continued to strengthen the congregation’s understanding of scripture through faithful teaching and preaching.

In April 2001, the New Hope family broke ground for a new sanctuary and by the grace of God, on July 14, 2002, Pastor Hinson and congregation joyfully marched into their new house of worship.
